Course Description
The ITS Cloud Development Operations (DevOps) Specialist course trains a Higher Technician specialized in managing the entire enterprise technological ecosystem.
This figure acts as a bridge between software development teams and IT operations, ensuring an efficient, secure, and scalable software lifecycle. The training covers nine specialist units: network infrastructure, virtualization and container orchestration, multi-platform cloud, database and data management, automation and Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps and cybersecurity, DevOps and agile methodologies, full-stack and microservices development, AIOps and machine learning.
In addition to these, there are four transversal units covering English language, digital law, business economics, and team working. The course stands out for its hands-on approach: all training is delivered in a state-of-the-art DevOps laboratory designed for 30 students, featuring enterprise infrastructure that simulates real production environments, Kubernetes clusters, and multi-cloud environments. This path is offered as part of the internationalization project of the ITS Academy Angelo Rizzoli in Egypt, Mattei Plan (MIM, Decree no. 1603/2025).
Access is reserved for students holding the ITS Alignment Path certificate or certified equivalent skills.

Comprehensive Training: From Cloud Infrastructure to AIOps
The path is structured to guide you progressively from network infrastructure to managing enterprise multi-cloud environments with integrated artificial intelligence.
You will learn to design scalable network architectures and manage enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments, mastering virtualization and container orchestration with VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio. You will delve into multi-platform cloud computing on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, using Infrastructure as Code via Terraform and CloudFormation.
You will enter the world of DevOps automation with Python, Bash, Ansible, and advanced CI/CD pipelines, integrating enterprise DevSecOps and cybersecurity practices: zero-trust, SIEM, GDPR, and ISO 27001 compliance.
You will develop full-stack microservices applications with Spring Boot and React, and apply machine learning to operations intelligence with MLOps, Kubeflow, and models for anomaly detection and predictive analytics.
The course includes preparation for internationally recognized professional certifications: CKA, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, CompTIA Security+, AWS DevOps Engineer, and Azure DevOps Expert.

You will complete your training by working in teams using Agile, Scrum, and ITIL 4 methodologies, developing technical leadership, problem-solving, and complex project management skills.

Course Duration
The complete training path spans three total years and is divided into two phases:
Alignment Path (1 year, 1,000 hours)
A preparatory year dedicated to Italian, digital skills, and technical-professional fundamentals, required for access to the specialist biennium.

- 180 hours in distance learning
- 80 hours of Project Work
ITS DevOps Specialist Course (2 years, 2,000 hours)
The specialist biennium, at the end of which students obtain the Higher VET Diploma recognized nationally and European-wide (EQF 5).
- 1,160 hours of theoretical-practical training
- 840 hours of company internship
Mandatory attendance is required according to the guidelines of the ITS course.

The course is fully funded under the Mattei Plan for Africa (MIM Departmental Decree no. 1603 of June 20, 2025), which covers the entire training path, from the Alignment Path to the specialist biennium.

Alignment Path: The Gateway to the Course
Access to the ITS Cloud Development Operations (DevOps) Specialist course is reserved for students holding the ITS Alignment Path certificate or certified equivalent skills.
It is a one-year, 1,000-hour preparatory path that provides the linguistic, digital, and technical-professional foundations necessary to tackle the specialist training. The path is aimed at Egyptian students who have graduated from Secondary Education, specifically from Applied Technology Schools, or from the three-year path of the Salesian Don Bosco Institute of Cairo, where the training also takes place.
Erasmus+ Learning Agreement Student Mobility for Traineeships (KA171)
Italian is at the center of the program: by the end, you will reach the A2/B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference, with a focus on technical ICT vocabulary and professional communication.
Digital training follows the European DigComp 2.2 framework and includes Python programming, version control with Git, SQL databases, web technologies, and an introduction to cloud computing and DevOps principles.
The program is completed by modules on networking and basic cybersecurity, integrated technical laboratories, agile methodologies (Scrum), and a final Project Work at the Don Bosco Institute of Cairo or partner companies.
