Manage the security of computer systems and networks, research and analyze their vulnerabilities and respond to attacks and security incidents.

Course Description

With the ITS Cyber ​​Defense Specialist course, you will learn ethical hacking methodologies and techniques for researching, identifying and documenting vulnerabilities at the infrastructural and application level of IT systems.

You will thus be able to independently manage the response phases to a security incident and carry out basic digital forensic analysis operations.

The course

The course prepares Cyber ​​Defense Specialist Technicians capable of identifying system vulnerabilities and responding to attacks and security incidents.

The Cyber ​​Defense Specialist is a professional capable of identifying and documenting the security levels of the infrastructures, recognizing a cyber attack and managing the various phases of response. They also know how to acquire the evidence and traces left in a compromised system to perform some basic digital forensic analysis operations.

Thanks to this course you will then learn how to use the methodologies and tools for cyber security, independently assessing the validity of the results provided by the IT systems security monitoring tools.

With the support of senior specialists, you will be able to set up the detailed reporting necessary to investigate the safety status of the systems, always operating in compliance with ethics and regulations relating to safety and compliance.

Job opportunities

At the end of the course of study the student will obtain the qualification of Cyber ​​Defense Specialist. It will therefore be able to analyze the security status of IT systems, identify any weaknesses, carry out basic forensic analysis operations and respond to IT attacks.

Access requirements

In order to access this course, the following requirements must be met:

  • Possession of one of the following qualifications: Secondary school diploma (preferential areas: scientific high school, computer science high school).
  • Professional diploma obtained as a result of the four-year IeFP courses and IFTS Certification.
  • English language (preferably B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for CEFR languages) and basic knowledge of technical English for the sector.
  • Basics of logic and mathematics
  • Basis of ICT processes and technologies
  • Residence or domicile in Lombardy

Duration of the course

The training course has a duration of 2 years. It is organized into 1,000 hours of training each year, for a total of 2,000 hours divided as follows:

  • 1,200 hours of classroom and laboratory training
  • 800 hours of training / internship

Cost of the course

To participate in the course, a contribution of € 1,000 / year is required for supplementary teaching services (technological equipment, cloud platforms…).

There are exemptions based on income or merit.
