Course Description

The Network and Cloud Specialist course teaches how to implement and manage networks and data centers, from traditional to virtual, in order to guarantee their security. Specific attention is given to data security from a cyber security and privacy perspective, as well as a focus on the compatibility and scalability of cloud computing services, with a view to migrating from a traditional system to one in the cloud.

The course

The course prepares cloud systems experts specialized in the creation and management of data centers and their security systems.

The figure of the systems engineer is evolving towards a specialization increasingly oriented to the management of data, information and their security.

The hardware component, as important as it is, is less central nowadays. In fact, there is an evolution towards the cloud, security and guaranteed information protection. This phenomenon means that a modern systems engineer must know how to manage and design a latest generation corporate information system, integrating features, strengths and weaknesses of the on-premise and cloud.

The course therefore prepares Junior Systems Engineers with up-to-date training with respect to the needs of the labor market, with mastery in system and network administration, installation and administration of virtualized, containerized and orchestrated data centers, management of security and privacy issues.

You will learn how to install and manage a scalable network infrastructure, to integrate the different cloud computing services. You will be able to identify and solve problems in the different levels of the infrastructures, to set up monitoring activities and to prevent criticalities related to networks, systems, security and data confidentiality. You will also deepen the concepts of IoT (Internet of Things) and Big Data.

Job opportunities

At the end of the course of study the student will obtain the qualification of Higher Technician for IT infrastructures, cloud and data security. It will therefore be able to manage, understand and design security systems for infrastructures, integrating the rules of compliance of the protection of personal data with the different business needs.

  • System Integrator
  • ICT departments of companies
  • ICT business functions

The employment rate of 2019 graduates (recorded in July 2020, one year after graduation) is 100%. In fact, all graduates were employed in companies in the sector with stable and consistent contracts.

Access requirements

In order to access this course, the following requirements must be met:

Possession of one of the following qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma (preferential areas: scientific high school, computer science high school).
  • Professional diploma obtained as a result of the four-year IeFP courses and IFTS Certification.
  • English language (preferably B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for CEFR languages) and basic knowledge of technical English for the sector.
  • Basics of logic and mathematics
  • Basis of ICT processes and technologies
  • Residence or domicile in Lombardy

Duration of the course

The training course has a duration of 2 years. It is organized into 1,000 hours of training each year, for a total of 2,000 hours divided as follows:

  • 1,200 hours of classroom and laboratory training
  • 800 hours of training / internship

Cost of the course

To participate in the course, a contribution of € 1,000 / year is required for supplementary teaching services (technological equipment, cloud platforms…).

There are exemptions based on income or merit.
